 Rainbow Beach Estate is a master planned community within the Port Macquarie Hastings’s Council’s Area 14 Structure Plan. Almost 150 housing lots have been developed so far and the concept plan envisages a further 900 lots supporting 3,000 people when the estate is fully developed in 10 to 15 years time. Rainbow Beach will be an integrated community with schools, shopping areas, playing fields, cycleways, pathways and other passive recreation areas, offering residents a ‘liveable and walkable’ community located right beside the Pacific Ocean and only a short drive away from the major regional city of Port Macquarie. The Rainbow Beach “Concept Plan Application” is expected to be finalised and before the Minister for Planning for approval under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act during 2008.
